Client

Pintel is a single-brand e-boutique, an official sales and ordering representative of the Pintel™ brand. The company was seeking for a software development firm that would build an ERP software system from scratch. Since we made a website for them before and they were totally satisfied with the result, they decided to contact us again.

Problem

When the company turned to Arateg, it had to manually keep a record of products, materials, and defects. Since there was no specialized software system for accounting, the organization had to control their availability using dozens of disconnected Google spreadsheets. However, with the growth of the product range, resource planning and tracking became time-consuming.
Employees had to make difficult calculations and then verify the results in order to avoid errors. In addition, information, that was updated in one document, had to be changed in the other to ensure data accuracy. For this purpose, a specialist had to request access from another professional or department, which was inconvenient and often interrupted task completion.

Project duration

About 3,5 months, 700 hours

Project team

UI designer, UX designer, back-end developer, front-end developer, QA engineer, project manager.

Project goal

Collaborating with Arateg, the customer wanted to create a web ERP software system that would allow automating accounting of:
  • materials
  • available products
  • manufacturing defects
  • defects from suppliers
With the view of receiving a clear understanding of how many materials were purchased, how many clothes were produced and sold, the company also needed to track sales.

Solution

To create an ERP system, we used VueJS and PHP (Laravel) to make the front-end part of the project , REST API for the back-end, and PostgreSQL database as well.
ERP solution development passed through the following stages:
  1. Analysis of the company’s business needs

We started building an ERP software system with the collection of the client’s requirements. Our aim was to get a deep insight into all the business nuances and understand how we could help him solve the problem. This project stage took a week.

  2. UX design

Our team created a prototype based on the received data. Then it was tested together with the client so that all his expectations would be met. We completed this step in about two weeks.

  3. UI design

Our skilled visual designer created interactive UI. They took care of ensuring high usability, intuitive design, and seamless user experience.

  4. ERP software development

We divided the amount of work into sprints and got down to building a web application. The back-end was developed along with the front-end within two months.

  5. Quality assurance

he web application was tested, bugs were fixed, and the product was checked for its compliance with the requirements. Once this stage was ended (in about two weeks), an ERP software system was successfully integrated into the client’s processes.

Features of an ERP system

  • Fabric accounting
  • Accounting for trims
  • Forecasting of tailoring
  • Accounting of available products
  • Accounting of defects from the supplier
  • Accounting of manufacturing defects
  • Detalization of the unit cost
  • Sales record

Result

Pintel has optimized and improved the accounting of materials, products on stock, defects, and sales. Now employees don’t have to waste their time calculating as everything is automatically calculated with the help of formulas embedded in the ERP software system. Therefore, they can spend more time on other crucial tasks while the number of human errors has been significantly reduced.
